Updates on planning developments in the area
Three Plan Changes are currently pending and likely to go before the Environment Court, probably in 2012. In response to overwhelming community concern the PCCA has lodged appeals to these plan changes and has, as required, engaged experts to assist in this process.
Plan Change 34 involves developments for Pine Harbour Marina that will introduce several hundred houses, apartments, and a reduction in the boat servicing facilities there.
Plan Change 30 is a residential housing sub-division - covering a significant stretch of land from the main Beachlands-Maraetai Road down Jack Lachlan drive to Pine Harbour, and involving the building of around 700 new homes.
Plan Change 30a is a plan proposed by Progressive Enterprises to allow land at the corner of Beachlands Road (by the roundabout) to be developed commercially, primarily for the building of a Countdown supermarket and ancillary shops, car parking and other amenities.
Details of the Plan Changes, information on the hearings held in 2010, and related information are available on the Auckland Council site here.
